Tracy Howard

Athletics Director

Mr. Tracy Howard is in his 9th year as the school's athletics director and his 21th year in the field of education. Coach Howard has spent the last 15 years in Christian Education where he has served in various leadership roles. He has also held assistant and head coaching positions in a number of sports throughout his career; 14 of which he has held the title as a head baseball coach. During his time as a head baseball coach he has accumulated a record of 320 wins and 125 losses with a winning percentage of .725. Coach Howard has been selected as the District Coach of the Year eight times, and his team season achievements include seven district championships and six state tournament appearances. The most recent team success belongs to the 2021 SCS Varsity Eagle Baseball team who finished as TAPPS D2-1 District Champions and TAPPS State Runner-Ups. Coach Howard is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he was a four-year letterman, team captain, and starting pitcher for the Crusader baseball team.


Jennifer Cline

Associate Athletic Director/Head Softball

Coach Jennifer Cline is in her 13th year at Southwest Christian School and her 9th year as the Head Softball Coach.  Jennifer is married to Doug Cline and together they have one daughter, Aubree, a sixth-grader at SCS.  Jennifer is a graduate of Midwestern State University where she graduated with a degree in History.  Jennifer played college softball at Vernon College in Vernon, Texas.  Jennifer and her family live in Joshua, TX. Doug teaches at New Horizon High School in Joshua TX, teaching math.  In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys time at home and time on the golf course with Doug and friends.  One of Jennifer’s favorite Bible verses is Deuteronomy 15:10- “Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”


Jeffrey Dixon

Associate Athletic Director/Head Football Coach

Coach Dixon is in his first year at SCS serving as Head Football Coach and Associate Athletic Director. Coach Dixon a fantastic role model for students and promotes good character both on and off the field. Coach Dixon was an assistant coach in several storied programs throughout his career.  He was a member of Southlake Carroll's first state championship coaching staff in 1988, also coaching at Katy High School during their 2000 and 2003 state championships years.  He also was a graduate of Katy High School and has been inducted into the Katy ISD Sports Hall of Honor as both a player and coach.  Coach Dixon was a member of Sam Harrell's staff at Ennis, reaching the state semi-finals in 1999.  Coaches Bob Ledbetter and Steve Lineweaver (SLC), Coaches Mike Johnston and Gary Joseph (Katy), and Coach Sam Harrell (Ennis) are all THSCA Hall of Honor coaches who played a big role in Coach Dixon's development as a coach.  Coach Dixon is the longest-tenured and the winningest head coach in Alvarado's history.  His Alvarado teams competed in the state playoffs for 13 years while winning district titles in four of those years.  The 2010 team reached the state semifinals and the 2011 team played for a state championship. He served on the THSCA Board of Directors from 2018-22.


Kaci Snyder

Assistant to the Athletic Director

Mrs. Kaci Snyder is in her 12th year at SCS. She currently serves as the assistant to the athletic director but has previously been a teacher and coach at SCS. She graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a B.A. in history. She and her husband, Jeremy, have two children, Isaac and Ruth, who attend SCS.


Mario Stevenson

Sport Performance Coordinator

Mario Stevenson is in his first year of service at SCS. He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where he was a standout multi-sport athlete at Melrose High School. Upon graduation from high school, he earned a football scholarship to Northeast Mississippi Community College where he was awarded All Conference and was inducted into the NMCC Hall of Fame. His play on the field led him to be touted as the top JUCO cornerback in the entire country by 247 Sports (formerly The Insiders) prior to his sophomore campaign.  After Junior College, Mario attended Louisiana State University where he had the opportunity to play under coaching legend Nick Saban.  He and the Tigers went on to win both the SEC West Championship, The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, and the 2004 National Championship by defeating Oklahoma University 21-14 in the Nokia Sugar Bowl to be crowned BCS National Champions.  One playing highlight while at LSU was a 55-yard blocked punt return for a touchdown that sparked a come from behind victory to secure the win in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.  After graduation from LSU, Coach Stevenson spent a short time with the Miami Dolphins before retiring due to battling a series of injuries.

Not only has Coach Stevenson had an incredible playing career, he also is a veteran coach with 14 years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels.  He spent a decade of his career in Memphis Tennessee where he had the opportunity to lead as both a head football and a head track and field coach at three different schools.  From there, Coach Stevenson had the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level as a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Nevada, Colorado State University, and the University of California, Berkeley.  Mario holds a Master's Degree in Exercise Science as well as the gold standard in the Sports Performance Field, a CSCS certification.



Lindsey Shaffer

Head Athletic Trainer

Mrs. Lindsey Shaffer is in her 2nd year as the Head Athletic Trainer of Southwest Christian School! Lindsey comes to us with a wealth of experience in both the school and clinical setting. She received her undergrad in Athletic Training from TCU and her Masters in Health and Fitness from Purdue University. She has several endorsements to include the prestigious CSCS certification which is the gold standard in the field of sports performance. Overall, she has 17 years of experience as she served as the Athletic Trainer at both Brewer and Aledo High Schools before spending the last five years as a clinical AT for a local physician. Lindsey and her husband are members at Christ Chapel Bible Church and are the proud parents of SCS first grader, Kash.

When asked about this opportunity Lindsey said, “I am super excited to get back on the sidelines and work with the incredible student-athletes at SCS. Walking with an athlete through an initial injury to return to play is something that I have always loved about athletic training. My family has already fallen in love with the Christian atmosphere created at SCS as we were Kindergarten parents last year. Joining the SCS Athletics Department is going to be a wonderful next step."


Kayci Garbo

Athletics Game Day Coordinator & CTC Athletics Coordinator

Ms. Kayci Garbo is in her 7th year of service at Southwest Christian School. She currently serves in the Athletics Department as the Gameday Operations Coordinator and CTC Athletics Coordinator. Coach Garbo attended OU and USSA, and served in the athletic department at both OU and Norman North High School before returning to DFW in 2013. She began coaching at Southwest Christian in 2013 - serving as a JV volleyball coach for three years, and as the head volleyball coach for two. Before returning to SCS in 2023, Coach Garbo spent four years at Trinity Christian Academy in Willow Park, where she coached multiple sports and served as the Athletic Operations Coordinator. Kayci is a Pi Beta Phi Alumnae, and is involved in organizations such as FCA, Special Olympics Texas, and Mended Hearts.


Kyle Harrison

Athletics Coordinator/Head Golf Coach/ Asst. Football Coach

Mr. Kyle Harrison is in his 10th year of coaching and 9th year of teaching at Southwest Christian School. He currently serves as the Head Golf Coach, Assistant Football Coach and Athletics Coordinator. Coach Harrison is a native of Memphis, TN and is a graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN where he obtained his B.S. in Communications. Coach Harrison was a four-year letterman at Austin Peay playing for the football team. He has been a lifelong golfer with a strong passion and deep appreciation for the game. 


Dustin Emmons

Athletic Facilities and Transportation

Dustin Emmons is Graduate class of ‘11 and is on his second year as a coach here at Southwest Christian . Coach Emmons lettered in multiple sports as well was a 4 year letterman in baseball as an Eagle. Coach Emmons spent two years at Weatherford College as a D1 collegiate athlete. While at Weatherford College he was under the leadership of Flint Wallace as his pitching coach who played a pivotal roll in his growth’s of pitching and mechanics.

Dustin was named to the NJCAA AllStar team In 2013, Emmons is 1 of 35 coyotes to continue his career professionally with the Atlanta Braves.

After his time with Atlanta, Emmons has focused on developing pitchers to maximize their potential to reach their highest level. Emmons also is an active captain with our high school fishing team thru THSBA. 


Fred Jones

Head Boys Basketball Coach

Mr. Fred Jones is in his 5th year of service at Southwest Christian and 18th year of coaching and education. Coach Jones currently serves as the Head Boys' Basketball Coach and Compass Leadership teacher. Before coming to SCS, Coach Jones began his coaching career at Temple High School. He has also served in a coaching role at Marcus High School, La Marque High School and Aledo High School. 

Coach Jones holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Texas Tech University. He has also completed over two semesters of education with Sunset School of Preaching while serving as a youth minister at Avenue T in Temple, TX. He earned his teaching certification from McClennan Community College in Special Education, Physical Education, and as a Core Teacher for Grades 4-8. Mr. Jones and his wife, Natasha, have been married 6 years and have 6 daughters and 6 grandchildren. They are members and serve at the Potter’s House in Fort Worth, TX.


Russell Beam

Facilities Manager/Head Baseball Coach

Mr. Rusty Beam is in his 19th year of service at Southwest Christian School. He currently serves as the Director of Operations and Head Baseball Coach.Coach Beam started his teaching and coaching career at SCS in 1994 where he also coached football and basketball. In his time away from SCS Coach Beam taught and coached at Fort Worth Christian and Covenant Christian Academy where he served as the Athletic Director. Coach Beam has been a Head Baseball Coach for 25 seasons and has led his teams to 3 TAPPS State Championships and over 450 career wins.


Jasmine Jones

Head Volleyball Coach

Jasmine is in her 2nd season as the Head Volleyball Coach. She comes to us with an impressive volleyball resume. She was a standout high school player at Mansfield Legacy as well as playing four years of collegiate volleyball at McMurry University. Most recently she served as the head coach at Azle Christian, where she was named the District Coach of the Year and is currently on staff at Peak Volleyball Academy where she coaches and trains club volleyball athletes. Jasmine not only has a heart for teaching the game of volleyball but also for spreading the love of Christ as an aspiring classroom teacher who will serve in the full-time role of teaching intern on the Lakeside Campus.

Dr. Jake Bell

Head Girls' Basketball Coach

Coach Bell is in his 1st season at SCS as Head Girls' Basketball Coach.  He has 11 years of coaching experience, 9 of those as a head coach.  During that time he has an impressive overall head coaching record of 258-57 with his 2019-2020 team achieving a perfect 39-0 record and a UIL State Championship. In addition to the 2019-2020 team's success, Coach Bell's past teams have accumulated 9 District Championships, 5 Regional Tournament appearances, and 1 State Semi-Finalist. He has coached 10 All-State Players, has been named District Coach of the Year 6 times, and was honored as the Tyler Sportswriters East Texas Coach of the Year in 2020.

Jake earned his Bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian University, his Master of Education in Leadership and Administration degree from Lamar University, and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. During his 11-year education career, Jake has served as Teacher, Coach, Athletic Director, and High School Principal. He also holds his Superintendent Certification through the state of Texas. Not only is Coach Bell a proven and successful educator and coach, but he also had a stellar playing career. He was a 2-time All State Basketball Selection at Brock High School where he played under his father and legendary high school basketball coach, Jeff Bell. During high school, Jake was named as the District Offensive Player of the Year, District MVP, and was the TABC 3 Point Champion for UIL 1A-6A schools. In addition to Jake's coaching duties, he will serve as the SCS Alumni Coordinator.
Jake and his wife, Amanda, have 2 child (Greyson-4) and newborn daughter (Blakely).



Ivan Kovacevic

Head Girls' Soccer Coach

Eagle Nation, we are excited to formally announce Mr. Ivan Kovacevic as our new SCS Head Girls Soccer Coach and Girls Soccer Program Director.

Ivan comes to us with an impressive soccer resume. He was a standout player at the club, collegiate, and professional levels where he received many accolades for his play. A couple of his collegiate accolades include him being the all-time goals and assists leader for the Texas Wesleyan Men's Soccer program and being named to both the All-Conference and All-American teams during his time at TWU.

Coach Kovacevic not only has an impressive track record on the pitch as a player but he also has created a name for himself in the coaching world over the past decade. His high school coaching includes 8 years of combined experience at 3 area private schools and his club coaching consists of 10 years of combined experience. He currently holds the title of Director of Coaching for Sting SC and most recently served as an assistant coach for the Texas Wesleyan University Men’s Soccer Program.

Coach Kovacevic and his wife Stephani are the proud parents of two daughters, Ivana and Maja.  Lastly, when asked about this opportunity, Coach Kovacevic said, “I am excited to be a part of the Southwest Christian Family.  I am looking forward to creating a positive environment for my athletes while helping them reach their full potential both on and off of the field.”


Pete King

Science Teacher/Head Boys Soccer Coach

Mr. Pete King is in his 4th year at Southwest Christian School after serving for 31 years in education as a teacher and coach in the public school system.  He currently serves as the Head Boys' Soccer Coach and teaches in the Science Department. He has been a Head Coach for Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Soccer and Cross Country 28 of those 31 years. He has coached in various places including San Angelo, Denton, Burleson, and even the Virgin Islands.  He has also worked with students through organizations including The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Young Life, and Kanakuk and has worked as a youth director in his church for a number of years.

He and his wife, Kathy, have three kids.  His daughters Samantha and Sydney are grown and their son, Cooper is in 6th grade at SCS.  They live in Godley, Texas.


Sydney Moyer

Technology

Coach Moyer is in her 1st season as the Head Cross Country Coach. Sydney comes to us with 8 years of coaching experience in the sport of Cross Country and most recently has served as the Head Coach at Liberty Christian School the last 5 years.  Coach Moyer understands the demands of the sport not only as a coach but also as a Division 1 collegiate cross country athlete herself.  She began her collegiate career at Wheaton College and finished her last 2 years at Oklahoma University.

Sydney and her husband, Ethan, have two daughters (Owen-4 and Bailey-1).  When asked about this opportunity Coach Moyer said, “I am so excited to be on the coaching staff for the Southwest Christian Country team; a team well-known for their tradition of excellence, commitment to community, and focus on Jesus.  I am looking forward to practicing and racing on SCS' awesome course, building relationships, and representing the Lord and the Eagles in all that we do."


Stacy Buky

Cheer Coach

Stacy Buky is in her 1st season as the Head Cheer Coach at SCS. Stacy is married to Lance Buky and has two children, Ty and Molly Kate. She was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader growing up, and continued her cheer career at The University of Oklahoma. She cheered on the Co-Ed and All Girl squads, as well as the Cheer Athletics Collegiate Team. Stacy has always had a passion for leading and coaching others. She has choreographed and coached high school & competitive cheerleading on and off since graduation from OU in 2004. Stacy is also the Regional Director of Camp Gladiator and a Certified Nutrition Coach. She started her company, Avail Wellness in 2010 and continues to help people live a healthy lifestyle through her programs. Stacy is ecited to start coaching again and looks forward to making a positive impact at SCS.


Nicole Wheat

Dance Coach

Nicole Wheat is in her 1st year at SCS as our Head Dance Coach. She comes to us with a wealth of experience in the dance industry. She was a member of the Tallenettes Drill Team of Allen High School where she was captain her senior year.  She then went on to earn a degree in Dance from Texas Woman's University and after graduation became the head dance coach at Waxahachie High School where she served before taking a break to raise her family. In 2008 she opened Dance Fusion Dance Studio in Alvarado where she still continues to serve as the owner/operator and lead instructor. Other experience include serving as the head cheer coach at Alvarado High School. Nicole and her family are members at First Baptist Church Alvarado.

Kaycie Wallace

Science Teacher/Tennis Coach

Ms. Kaycie Wallace is in her 2nd year of coaching tennis at SCS and has been teaching for 7 years. She came to SCS in 2022 and served as the assistant tennis coach. She currently serves as a Science teacher, Junior Dean and Head Tennis Coach. Coach Wallace graduated from UTA with a B.S. in Biology. She grew up playing soccer and tennis and continued to play intramural tennis in college. Outside of school she coaches her daughters soccer team and regularly plays tennis with her 2 kids. She loves being able to pass on her love and appreciation of tennis to the SCS Tennis team.
